ACT’s first products are cell and tissue culture coatings for scientific research, cell-based assays, medical diagnostics, and other purposes.  These coatings mimic crucial features of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins but are entirely synthetic. The increased performance and consistency and reproducibility of results with these coatings will enable them to compete with currently available pre-coated and user-coated products. ACT’s coatings can be stored at room temperature, they require no animal source material (important to the FDA), and their cost is expected to be significantly lower than for competing products. More advanced coatings in development will add one or more capabilities, such as controlled release of molecules for modulating cell behavior, biomarker chemistry for assaying cell behavior, anti-microbial agents for preventing contamination, or patterning for control of tissue geometry.
